Finding an NA Meeting in Palm Springs

The finder searches nearby communities too, so it also surfaces meetings in Desert Hot Springs, just north across the freeway, and a little further in Indio and Palm Desert. In a valley this spread out, that range often matters more than which city a meeting is technically listed under.

Palm Springs has one of the fuller meeting profiles in the Lower Desert Area: open and closed discussion meetings alongside dedicated Beginners, Women’s, LGBTQ+, Basic Text and step study. That range of special-population meetings is not something every city in the valley offers.

The Lower Desert Area helpline, 760-388-0617, can help you find what’s running this week. To browse other cities, see the California NA meetings page.

Drug Use and Overdose in the Coachella Valley

Riverside County’s overdose burden is not spread evenly across the county. Palm Springs has drawn particular attention as local reporting in 2022 identified it as one of the harder-hit cities in the valley. This is part of why the county’s harm reduction program is based here. For the fuller national and county picture, see the Indio NA meetings page.

Treatment Options In and Near Palm Springs

Treatment ranges from outpatient counseling to residential care, and for many people it includes medication. Methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone are FDA-approved medications for opioid use disorder that work alongside NA rather than against it.

Call the RUHS Substance Use Prevention and Treatment CARES Line at 800-499-3008 for a free assessment, or search FindTreatment.gov for licensed programs near you. The SAMHSA National Helpline, 1-800-662-4357, is answered around the clock. Read more about levels of care for narcotics addiction.

Naloxone and Harm Reduction

Naloxone is available in California without a prescription, and CalRx-branded over-the-counter naloxone has cost about $19 for a two-dose pack since January 2026. DAP Health, the Coachella Valley’s harm reduction provider, is based in Palm Springs and runs a fixed site along with mobile outreach.

They distribute free naloxone and fentanyl test strips. Call 760-992-0453 for hours and locations. California’s Good Samaritan law also offers some protection from drug possession charges for someone who calls 911 during an overdose. See what happens during an opioid overdose for more.
