Tarrant County is the smallest geography with published counts.

• 69,973 provisional drug overdose deaths in the United States in 2025. This was down almost 14% from the 81,313 estimated in 2024 and the third straight annual decline.  
• 459 fatal poisonings in Tarrant County in 2024. However, 92% of them were unintentional.

Tarrant County does not publish overdose data below the county level.

Treatment Options In and Near Arlington

Methadone, buprenorphine and naltrexone are the standard of care for opioid use disorder treatment. Taking one of these medicines doesn’t exclude you from working in an NA program. MHMR of Tarrant County is the local mental health authority. They run outpatient substance use programs countywide and a residential program in Fort Worth. Payment is available on a sliding scale at screening.

Naloxone and Harm Reduction
