How NA Works in Boynton Beach

Florida’s drug deaths fell across every major category in the first half of 2025. The national count followed suit, falling for a third straight year. • 42% fewer deaths were caused by opioids in Florida in January through June 2025 than in the same months of 2024. Deaths caused by fentanyl were down 46% over the same period.
• 69,973 drug overdose deaths in the U.S. happened in 2025. This is down almost 14% from 81,313 in 2024 and a third consecutive annual decline.

These are statewide and national figures. Palm Beach County is reported as Medical Examiner District 15.  Boynton Beach doesn’t publish citywide drug overdose death rates.

Getting Treatment In and Around Boynton Beach

Naloxone Access in Palm Beach County

The FDA first approved nonprescription naloxone to be sold over the counter in March 2023.  The Hanley Foundation also stocks free emergency Narcan cabinets. These cabinets are in publicly accessible buildings across Palm Beach County.

Under section 893.21 of the Florida Statutes, a person who seeks medical help in good faith during an overdose cannot be charged with drug possession on evidence obtained as a result of that call.
