NA works well for many people, and it also fits alongside professional treatment. The Las Vegas metro has the full range of care: medically supervised detox, residential and inpatient programs, and outpatient options including partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient.
For opioid use disorder, medications are the evidence-based standard. Methadone is provided through licensed opioid treatment programs, and buprenorphine and naltrexone are available through many clinics and office-based providers.
These medications reduce overdose risk and support recovery, and they work well together with NA. One is not a substitute for the other.

Naloxone and Harm Reduction
Naloxone reverses an opioid overdose and is safe to give even if you are not sure opioids are involved. Under Nevada’s Good Samaritan Drug Overdose Act, a pharmacist can dispense naloxone without an individual prescription, and the law protects people who call 911 or give naloxone in good faith, as well as the person who is overdosing, from certain drug possession and paraphernalia charges. - Local pharmacies: Walgreens, CVS, Smith’s, and Walmart carry over-the-counter naloxone nasal spray (Narcan and RiVive) without a prescription.
