Olney is a small settlement in the county of Montgomery in Maryland, located near Washington D.C. Up until the 1960s, it was a rural settlement when it was converted to a residential area as a result of the growth of the suburbs of Washington. The village that would be known as Olney was founded in 1800. The name Olney was given by early residents Doctor Charles Farquhar and Sarah Brooke, who were devotees of the poet William Cowper, and named it after his hometown. Like many other towns, Olney also requires a therapy service to help people cope with narcotic or opioid addiction. A service like Narcotics Anonymous. They hold meetings with people who are going through or have gone through substance use disorders. This community aspect of the meetings is essential because coping with these disorders can be extremely difficult without a support network. NA meetings in Olney are also focused on anonymity, which frees people up to express themselves without fear or shame. A complete directory of NA meetings in Maryland can be found on the website Narcotics.com. Visit the website to find the one closest to you.
