Finding an NA Meeting in Dallas

Treatment Options In and Near Dallas

NA is a mutual-aid fellowship rather than treatment, and plenty of people use both. Clinical options are concentrated in Dallas more than anywhere else in the county, spanning withdrawal management, outpatient counseling and residential care. Methadone, buprenorphine and naltrexone are the evidence-based standard of care for opioid use disorder. Methadone is dispensed only through a SAMHSA-certified opioid treatment program, while buprenorphine can be prescribed in an ordinary office visit. Attending NA and taking a prescribed medication are compatible.

Naloxone and Harm Reduction

Naloxone reverses an opioid overdose and is safe to carry. Texas runs a statewide standing order, so pharmacies and organizations can hand it out without an individual prescription.
