Finding an NA Meeting in Dallas
The finder at the top of the page searches for NA meetings by distance from the location you enter rather than by city limits. This is helpful in a metro area this spread out. A search from northwest Dallas often shows groups in Farmers Branch or Irving before a meeting on the far side of downtown.
From east Dallas, Mesquite and Garland listings come up alongside city ones. When you enter a location from the southwest, Grand Prairie is usually closer. The full Texas NA meetings directory lists every city.
Open meetings welcome anyone. Open meetings are good for family members and people still deciding whether NA is for them. Closed meetings are for people who identify as having a drug problem. Dallas listings also include:
- Discussion and topic meetings
- Basic Text and step study groups
- Beginner and newcomer meetings
- Young people’s meetings
- Online meetings
DART light rail runs four lines seven days a week from early morning until after midnight. This makes attending a meeting easier when you don’t have a car. The Lone Star Region answers a 24-hour helpline at 1-888-629-6757 and a volunteer who speaks Spanish answers at 1-888-600-6229.

Treatment Options In and Near Dallas
NA is a fellowship rather than providing clinical treatment. However, many people use both in their recovery journey. Clinical options are concentrated in Dallas more than anywhere else in the county. Your treatment plan can include withdrawal management, outpatient counseling and residential care.
Methadone, buprenorphine and naltrexone are the standard of care for opioid use disorder treatment and is backed up by years of research. Methadone is dispensed only through an opioid treatment program certified by SAMHSA. Buprenorphine can be prescribed in an ordinary office visit. Many people combine NA and prescribed medications to support their recovery.
Check FindTreatment.gov by ZIP code or call the SAMHSA National Helpline at 1-800-662-4357 to find and compare treatment options. Dallas County also staffs an overdose prevention and treatment referral line at 214-590-4000 that is open 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily in English and Spanish. Our guides to addiction treatment and medication-assisted treatment explain what each involves.
Naloxone and Harm Reduction
Naloxone reverses an opioid overdose and is safe to carry. Texas runs a statewide standing order. This means pharmacies and organizations can hand it out without an individual prescription.
- Dallas County Health and Human Services
Publishes an interactive map of free naloxone pickup locations across the county. - Pharmacies
Nasal spray is sold over the counter and Texas pharmacies may also distribute it under the standing order from the Texas Overdose Training Initiative. - Naloxone Texas
Mails free naloxone anywhere in the state on request and runs community distribution hubs. - Dallas County Overdose Response Team
A registered nurse and a peer support specialist visit overdose survivors, hand out free Narcan kits and train households in their use. The team began in the city of Dallas and reached five more county cities in October 2025.
Texas HB 1694 is the Jessica Sosa Act that has been in effect since September 2021. This law gives a limited affirmative defense against a drug possession charge to the first person who calls 911 during an overdose, stays and cooperates. It has conditions and is not blanket immunity.
Our overdose resources cover what to do while help arrives.

Yes. As of July 2026, 11 active NA meetings were listed in Dallas in seven formats. These groups are found in neighboring cities. Times and locations can shift so treat the finder as the current source.
Are NA meetings free?
Yes NA meetings are free and do not require dues or fees. Groups pass a basket for voluntary contributions to cover rent and literature.
Are there beginner or newcomer meetings near Dallas?
Yes. Beginner meetings are among the formats listed in Dallas. They are set up for people attending their first few meetings. You aren’t expected to speak and no one asks for a contribution.
Are there virtual or online NA meetings?
Yes. Dallas listings include online meetings, and the finder shows them next to in-person groups. They help when work hours, transport or caring for someone else make a room hard to reach.
Is NA religious?
No. NA describes itself as spiritual rather than religious and is not tied to any denomination. Members define a higher power for themselves, and some define it as the group itself.
Does NA work alongside methadone or buprenorphine?
Yes. Methadone, buprenorphine and naltrexone are the evidence-based standard of care for opioid use disorder, and a prescribed medication does not stop anyone from attending NA or taking part. Groups differ in how they discuss it, so the regional helpline is a good place to ask.
