NA is free, anonymous, and open to anyone who wants to stop using drugs. Pittsburgh sits at the boundary of two member areas of the Tri-State Region of Narcotics Anonymous, which runs more than 400 weekly meetings across western Pennsylvania, the West Virginia panhandle, and eastern Ohio.
The North Pittsburgh Area (NPASCNA) covers the North Hills side of the city, and the South Hills Area (SHASCNA) covers the South Hills side, so a search from anywhere in Pittsburgh will reach meetings in both areas. In-person meetings are available throughout the week. The region also offers online meetings for those who cannot attend in person.

Finding an NA Meeting in Pittsburgh
The meeting search above shows results near your location, not only meetings listed under “Pittsburgh.” That is intentional. NA meetings in Etna, West View, and Allison Park to the north, and in McKeesport, Monroeville, Bethel Park, and Carnegie to the south, all serve Pittsburgh residents.
These are often located closer to a given neighborhood than a meeting technically listed inside city limits. If you live near a city line, check the results carefully rather than searching by name alone.
Based on the site’s meeting data as of July 2026, Pittsburgh has more than 120 active NA meetings on its own, one of the highest counts of any city in the state. The mix includes:
If you want to talk to a person instead of scrolling a list, the Tri-State Region helpline is answered by NA members: 800-934-1582(Sponsored) . Toll-free, it’s 888-251-2426.
Drug Use and Overdose in Allegheny County
Nationally, the picture has been improving. The CDC’s most recent provisional data, covering the 12 months ending in January 2026, predicts about 69,150 overdose deaths across the country, a decline of roughly 13% from the prior year.
Pennsylvania has followed the same direction: the state’s Overdose Information Network recorded 3,886 reported overdoses in 2025, down 26 percent from 5,237 in 2024.
City-specific overdose figures for Pittsburgh are not published separately from the county, since the Allegheny County Office of the Medical Examiner investigates drug deaths countywide. Allegheny County’s drug use numbers reveal the same data. There were 301 fatal overdoses recorded between January and August 2024, compared with 466 in the same stretch of 2023.

Treatment Options In and Near Pittsburgh
Treatment for opioid use disorder ranges from medically supervised detox to inpatient rehab to ongoing outpatient care. Medications for opioid use disorder, methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone, are the evidence-based standard of care and work alongside NA rather than against it.
Many people in NA also take one of these medications, and NA does not require anyone to stop. Allegheny County runs its own low-barrier access point, the Bridge Clinic, which connects people to buprenorphine and other treatment without requiring an appointment first.
The clinic logged 2,146 visits across all payer types in 2024, including Medicaid. For a full list of treatment providers near a specific Pittsburgh address, SAMHSA’s FindTreatment.gov lets you search by ZIP code and filter by service type, including detox, methadone, and buprenorphine. The SAMHSA National Helpline, 1-800-662-4357, is a free, 24/7, and confidential resource.
Naloxone and Harm Reduction
Naloxone reverses an opioid overdose and is legal to carry in Pennsylvania without a prescription. Some naloxone products are now available over the counter at pharmacies and grocery stores, and Pennsylvania’s statewide standing order also lets any pharmacy dispense it.
Pennsylvania’s Good Samaritan law, Act 139, gives limited legal protection to anyone who calls 911 to report an overdose and stays until help arrives, for both the caller and the person who overdosed. In Pittsburgh, naloxone is available through:
- Pharmacies statewide
Over the counter or under Pennsylvania’s standing order - Allegheny County Health Department
https://www.alleghenycounty.us/Services/Health-Department
Distributes naloxone through its Overdose Prevention program - Prevention Point Pittsburgh
https://www.pppgh.org/
A local harm-reduction organization providing naloxone and syringe services - NEXT Distro

Mails free naloxone to Pennsylvania residents
Crisis and Immediate Help

The numbers below are for ongoing crisis support, not for reversing an overdose in progress.
- 911 for a medical emergency or suspected overdose
- 988, call or text, for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline (calls from Allegheny County area codes route to resolve Crisis Services)
- 1-888-796-8226, resolve Crisis Services, 24/7 for any Allegheny County resident
- 1-800-662-4357, SAMHSA National Helpline, for treatment referrals

No, the only requirement for NA membership is a desire to stop using. Newcomers are welcome to attend while still using.
