The City of Thornton is a Home Rule Municipality located in Adams and Weld counties, Colorado. The best way to stay in recovery from drug use is practicing complete abstinence from drug use and inhabitants of Thornton who wish to try this may join NA meetings in Thornton to be in a community where there are people with a similar decision. The Narcotics Anonymous community’s goal is to create an environment where people who are trying to overcome substance use disorders can help each other. To achieve this goal, the community organizes NA meetings in different parts of the world. The first meeting happened several years ago in Los Angeles but there are now many Colorado NA meetings today. The Narcotics Anonymous community does not treat substance use disorders, neither does it hire professionals to help members. The community does not have any opinion on outside issues that are not directly linked to its aims. When new members join the Narcotics Anonymous community, they are encouraged but not forced to discuss the challenges they have had with substance use disorders. Old members are always willing to help the new ones so that they can feel like a part of the community as soon as possible. Finding the closest NA meeting to you may not be as easy as it sounds but we have created a local NA directory on narcotics.com to help with this process. If you also need to find an inpatient or outpatient facility in Thornton, call our helpline.
